About

Course Overview: To understand autism, it helps to first understand neurodiversity. This evidence-led, bitesize module provides a brief overview of what autism is and how it shapes an employee’s daily experience. By recognising natural differences and adjusting our everyday habits, we can build a more supportive environment where every colleague has the opportunity to do their best work. What You Will Learn: Upon completion, you will be able to: Understand the 'Spiky Profile': Move beyond outdated labels like "high-functioning" to understand that autistic individuals often have distinct peaks of exceptional strengths alongside specific challenges. Harness the Autism Advantage: Identify at least three professional strengths commonly associated with autism, such as hyper-focus, pattern recognition, and the cognitive diversity needed to prevent "groupthink". Implement Communication Strategies: Describe two practical communication strategies you can use immediately to support neurodiversity in your team. This includes embracing literal language, providing unambiguous instructions, and providing written follow-ups. Normalise Accommodations: Learn how simple adjustments — such as permitting noise-cancelling headphones or structuring routines — can transform a stressful environment into a productive one. The Tyfu Learning Approach: True to our 'Pedagogy First' philosophy, this course abandons corporate fluff. Designing a workplace with neurodiversity in mind does not mean lowering standards or creating a separate set of rules. Ultimately, it means building a more adaptable, effective, and compassionate workplace where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. Technical Information: Format: Downloadable .ppsx file (PowerPoint Show). Accessibility: Optimised for laptops and computers. Smartphone accessible via the official Microsoft PowerPoint app. Note: By purchasing, you agree to our standard T&Cs. Please ensure you have read these prior to checkout.
